In a pan add water,instant coffee and boil. Then add butter and mix well. Set aside
In bowl,sift together the all-purpose flour,cocoa powder,baking soda and salt,mix dry ingredients and set aside
In mixer machine, add Eggs, Caster Sugar and Vanilla Essence. Beat until light and fluffy
Fold in cocoa and flour mixture (made in Step 2) add 2 tbsp at a time and fold
Add hot coffee mixture and fold again
Pour batter into prepared pan
Preheat the oven at 180°C/ 356°F
Bake for 35 to 40 min or until wooden toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean
Let the cake cool down then cut in small sized chunks
Combine whipping cream and powdered sugar in a chilled bowl. Beat with an electric mixer at high speed until stiff peaks form
Arrange the cake chunks in the base of a trifle bowl
Spread milk on cake chunks to keep it moist. Add some pieces of cherries.
Spread a layer of whipped cream on it
Another layer of chocolate cake pieces, pour some milk on it. Then again spread a layer of whipped cream
In a piping bag take the whipped cream, decorate trifle, sprinkle some grated chocolate on it and some cherries on top!
